POSITION SUMMARY

To provide training for the Blind and Visually Impaired Persons, to develop their Job skills, Mobility skills and Daily Living skills and prepare them to be self-employed or to be employed.

DETAILS OF RESPONSIBILITIES

  1.  Instruct and guide trainees in job skills of carpentry, gardening, fish rearing, painting/art, mechanics, plumbing, handicraft, etc.
  2. Instruct and develop the trainees in Orientation & Mobility skills, Daily Living skills, Basic Braille knowledge and Social & Communication skills.
  3. Conduct assessment of trainees in the skills learned.
  4. Assess and maintain full records on all clients/trainees.
  5. Prepare monthly reports on progress of trainees.
  6. Maintain the training center and to ensure there are sufficient equipment/materials for the training purpose.
  7. Organize social activities for trainees.
  8. Responsible for the health and welfare of the trainees.
  9. The job functions are not only limited or restricted to those stated above. Other duties/tasks may assigned from time to time by the superiors and management.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum Dip. In Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or Special Education Teacher.
  2. Minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience is required.
  3. Fresh graduate are welcome
  4. Fluent in Bahasa Melayu and English language
  5. Knowledge in computing is recommended
  6. Willing to base at Penang.
  7. Must have driving license.
