Responsibilities

• Give accurate and timely counsel to executives on various legal topics (labor law, partnerships, international ventures, corporate finance etc.)
• Collaborate with management to devise efficient operational, investment, and stakeholder strategies.
• Specify internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance.
• Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
• Effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues.
• Communicate and negotiate with external parties (regulators, external counsel, public authority etc.), creating relations of trust.
• Draft and solidify agreements, contracts, and other legal documents to ensure the company’s full legal rights.
• Deal with complex matters with multiple stakeholders and forces
• Provide clarification on legal language or specifications to everyone in the organization.
• Conduct work with high integrity and responsibility.
• Maintain current and updated knowledge of alterations in legislation.

Requirements and skills

• Proven experience as a Legal Counsel in the business environment, with strong banking and finance knowledge
• Minimum 5 years legal practice or general counsel experience
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of corporate law and procedures.
• Full comprehension of the influences of the external environment of a corporation
• Demonstrated ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies.
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
• Sound judgment and ability to analyse situations and information
• Outstanding communication skills
• BSc degree in Law or J.D. degree
• MA or BSc in Business Administration will be considered an advantage. 

Additional Information:

• Applicant must be willing to work in our JB Office (Mount Austin Perdana). KL Office yet to setup (to work in a co-working space at the beginning).
• Shortlisted applicant must also be prepared to attend 2nd interview physically with our Senior Management in Singapore/JB office when there’s such travel plan arranged.
• Shortlisted applicant will be required to attempt some online and offline assessment tests as part of our recruitment process, before the 2nd interview.
• Candidates are hereby informed that they will be offered on yearly renewable for 2 years before conversion to permanent role.
