ACCOUNTABILITY :
Report to : The Superintendent

DUTY HOURS :
45 hours per work week (A separate work schedule will be provided)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
a. Driving Duties
1. Provide transportation services to residents and staff as required on official duties.
2. Maintain a logbook for all trips and ensure that the records are always up to date.
3. Ensure a high standard of safety as well as always obey all traffic rules and regulations
4. Regularly check and ensure that the various vehicles are appropriately maintained. A record book must be kept on all servicing, and repairs Monitor dates due for maintenance, road tax and insurance renewals and follow up to ensure that the needful is carried out timely
5. Ensure the general cleanliness of the vehicles at all times.
6. Run errands as and when required

b.Handyman Duties
1. Carry out domestic repairs and work as assigned eg minor repairs & painting of the Home.
2. Cut the grass whenever necessary
3. Trim all shrubs and plants and trees.
4. Keep the fence lines clean, supervise and assist in the cleaning of the palm tree’s trunks
5. Assist the houseparents to maintain the industrial bin washed and cleaned.
6. Assist in fundraising and special events when necessary.
7. Attend to all other reasonable duties of the Superintendent.

Requirements
1. Candidates must possess at least SPM level.
2. Able to work on shift

The Salvation Army made its entrance to Malaya in July, 1938 when Frederick Harvey set up the first centre in a former YMCA building in Penang. He went on to establish a free school on the island for hundreds of poor children, building upon our Founder William Booth’s mission to break cycles of poverty. Over the initial few years the Army opened up corps and social programmes in Ipoh, Melaka, Batang Melaka and Kuching.
Today
The Salvation Army in Malaysia has ten corps and a range of social service programmes that provide both spiritual guidance and practical assistance to people in need. The Army has developed its specialised residential care work with young people and has also developed other services such as homes for the elderly, day care centres, kindergartens and community service centres.
