Responsibilities

• To ensure good team performance, manages the overall industrial activities, including leading, counselling, and supervising direct and indirect subordinates.
• Assume leadership responsibility for the facility’s efficient daily operations.
• Work with departmental managers to organize plant activities to ensure the overall production goals are met promptly and affordably.
• Consult closely with quality staff to examine product uniformity while keeping an eye on scrap rates to spot patterns and potential improvement areas.
• Determine the best manufacturing procedures and raw material consumption. Ensure that health and safety regulations are followed. Encourage and support functioning in a continuous improvement environment. Manage long-term strategic goals and tactical implementation of production systems.
• Verify that the product complies with all applicable legal and regulatory criteria for food.
• Eliminate production limitations, distribute equipment and personnel resources, and give production staff the necessary guidance to meet all predetermined objectives.
• Establishing performance expectations, monitoring against expectations, and providing necessary feedback to team members to improve their growth in position and promotional opportunities.
• Coordinating plant profit forecasting and operating statements involving production estimates, raw material costs, labour costs, supplies, machinery maintenance and repair.
• Maintains a clean and safe working environment;
• Undertakes any duties and obligations as delegated by the operation director.

Requirements

• Bachelor degree in Business Management / Engineering or related field
• 5 – 10 years’ Manufacturing working experience.
• Concurrent managerial and leadership experience working in a production facility, ideally in the food sector.
• Proven understanding of the concepts and applications related to engineering, maintenance, and manufacturing processes
• Technical know-how and familiarity with industry standards for equipment.
• Be familiar with processes relating to inventory management, demand generation, productivity, and safety.
• Proven ability to inspire others, evaluate, and develop employee abilities; outstanding leadership, team-building, and advanced coaching skills;
• Ability to establish accountability and set a good example •
• Highly motivated, results-focused, and driven
• Strong team building, decision-making, and people management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational skills;
