Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure risk proposals are properly underwritten in accordance with the Company’s underwriting guidelines, rules and regulations of PIAM, MRB/ Bank Negara and other regulatory bodies.
  • Ensure that all policies/endorsements are issued accurately and promptly as per departments customer service standards.
  • Ensure reinsurance is arranged for risk which exceeds the Company’s retention limit.
  • Ensure retention and reinsurance cessations are correctly done to ensure accuracy.
  • Ensure all policies which are due for renewals are reviewed before renewals are invited.
  • Ensure each submission is reviewed to release quotation within the Company’s standard turnaround time. 
  • Supervise closely the performance of the subordinates to ensure that the quality of work and productivity are always high and consistent.
  • Constantly check and review system and procedures to ensure smooth and efficient flow of work.
  • Promptly attend to all enquires, incoming calls, complaints, and correspondence from customers (both internal and external) in line with the company’s customer service standards and turnaround time.
  • Initiate proposal for System enhancement to the IT Department from time to time if any loophole is found to impact productivity and operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess a recognized Degree in Mathematics, Accounting, Legal, Business (Insurance) or any other related disciplines.
  • Candidates who possess professional insurance certificates, e.g. AMII, CMII and etc. are welcome.
  • Preferably candidate who has minimum 3 years related working experience in Casualty underwriting.
  • Good in written and spoken English.
  • Meticulous and detail oriented.
  • Positive and always portray a “can-do” attitude.
  • Good in Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
  • Strong in presentation skills.
  • A good team player.
