Job Description

As the Accounting Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the organization’s financial accounting and reporting functions. This key leadership role involves managing a team of skilled professionals, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and providing strategic guidance to drive financial performance and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

– Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

– Ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting in compliance with GAAP and relevant accounting standards.

– Analyze financial data, performance metrics, and trends to provide management with actionable insights for informed decision-making.

2. Team Leadership:

– Manage and mentor a team of accountants, ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, development, and performance management.

– Foster a collaborative and high-performing team environment, encouraging professional growth and knowledge sharing.

– Conduct regular performance reviews and provide ongoing guidance and feedback to team members.

3. Budgeting and Forecasting:

– Develop and monitor annual budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments and senior management.

– Evaluate budgeting processes, identifying efficiencies and areas for improvement.

– Provide analysis and recommendations to optimize financial resources and achieve company goals.

4. Financial Operations:

– Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger functions, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance.

– Coordinate month-end and year-end closing procedures and prepare financials for review and presentation to senior management and external stakeholders.

– Establish and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets and minimize risk.

5. Audit and Compliance:

– Act as the main point of contact for external auditors and regulatory agencies, ensuring timely completion and compliance of financial audits.

– Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and accounting standards, staying abreast of updates and changes.

Qualifications and Experience:

– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation preferred.

– 3 years of progressive experience in accounting, with 3 years in a leadership/supervisory capacity.

– Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting requirements.

– Proficient in accounting software and ERP systems; experience with [specific software] is advantageous.

– Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.

– Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of building and developing high-performing teams.

– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively across various departments and levels of the organization.
