Job Summary

1.    Lead and architectural role in mechanical for product development.

2. Will work closely with business team to define product requirements/specifications based on market requirement and to architect the product design and development meeting the feature & quality expectation.

3.    Organize team activities in mechanical architecture design, parts design and validation.

4.    Work with program manager to ensure design schedule, prototype builds, cost and quality goals are met.

5.    Manage 3rd party design house on product design if required.

Key Responsibilities

1.    Lead product and feature development

2.    To define ME system/robustness test and guide test team perform test verifications to ensure the designs comply with product requirement.

3.    To drive ME deliverables and meet the major project milestone and to ensure the product shipping on schedule.

4.    To work with cross functional team members within the organization and customers with different cultures and comfortable to work with virtual team members from remote sites.

5.    Organize team activities in mechanical architecture design, parts design and validation.

6.    Ensure design schedule, prototype builds, cost and quality goals are met

7.    Lead a team of engineers and/or designers through different phases of the product development.

Minimum Requirements

1.    Mechanical engineering degree holder or equivalent degree from a recognized university. Higher degree is preferred.

2.    Min 7 years’ experience in Product Development environment.

3.    Knowledgeable in emerging technologies, state of art mechanical design, material/tooling trend including but not limited to mobile, automotive and medical industries.

4.    Proven experience in providing technical solutions on product design. Experience to architect full mechanical structure with multiple electrical-mechanical parts.

5.    Excellent communication and people skills with the ability to see assignments through to completion with minimal oversight. Good communication and influencing skills to work across the functional team.

6.    Proficiency with Pro-E design tools

7.    Familiarize with international ME test standard such as MIL standard etc.

8.    Prior experience in mobile, automotive, medical devices is added advantage.
