As the Head of Buyer, you will report directly to the Head of Supply Chain, playing a crucial role in negotiating top-quality products, ensuring seamless demand planning, and cultivating strong partnerships with farmers and traders. You will oversee both the B2B and B2C segments, driving strategic development and optimizing the buying process to secure the perfect combination of price, quality, and service for our organization.

Responsibilities:

• We are seeking a passionate individual to collaborate closely with our Head of Supply Chain in shaping a fresh and innovative buying strategy. As part of our dynamic team, you will have the opportunity to explore both outsourced and direct-to-brand models, revolutionizing the way we approach procurement.
• Believing in the power of strategy, you will not only help craft our buying strategy but also lead its execution. Upholding the values of anti-bribery laws and promoting transparency in work processes will be paramount. You will be instrumental in instilling these values within your team, ensuring a culture of integrity and excellence.
• Your keen eye for market trends will be essential as you identify successful product offerings and collaborate closely with our platform team. Together, you will curate an enticing selection, constantly fine-tuning our offerings to meet the evolving needs of our customers.
• A strong partnership with our Commercial team will be key, as you work hand in hand to drive promotional initiatives with farmers and traders. This collaborative effort will help us showcase the best deals and create a mutually beneficial ecosystem.
• As a leader within the team, you will be responsible for ensuring smooth operations and contributing to the training and development of your fellow team members. Compliance with legal regulations and best practices will be a top priority, including any relevant certifications or guidelines.
• Taking ownership of the buying process, you will develop comprehensive plans and strategies to achieve ambitious targets. Effective resource management and adherence to budgetary controls will be crucial for success.
• Nurturing a high-performing team will be a key aspect of your role. This will involve recruitment, training, goal setting, performance management, and providing general support to team members. Together, we will strive to exceed expectations and achieve remarkable outcomes.
• In addition to your core responsibilities, you will also provide support to other departments, leveraging your expertise in buying processes and addressing related issues. Requirements:

• With at least 5 years of experience as a buyer or within a procurement team in the grocery/food vertical, you will bring valuable insights and expertise to the table. This is your opportunity to unleash your potential and make a significant impact in a fast-paced environment.
• Located in Petaling Jaya, you will have the chance to demonstrate your advanced computer skills, showcasing your prowess in utilizing various tools and software to streamline operations.
• Attention to detail is your superpower, and your exceptional analytical skills will be key in navigating complex procurement processes. Proficiency in office productivity tools such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Google Suites will enable you to excel in this role.
• As an effective communicator, you possess fluency in both written and spoken Bahasa Malaysia and English. Your ability to articulate ideas and collaborate across diverse teams will set you apart.
