Your responsibilities will be to:

• To design and develop system applications and adopt popular technology trends / emerging technologies that are robust, secure and stable for systems development;
• To provide development effort estimation for the implementation enhancements and new solutions, assign relevant resources to achieve the targeted timelines, resolve potential roadblocks / risks / issues;
• To adopt latest methodologies / best practices in software development and develop relevant technical documentations;
• To ensure development teams are provided with relevant exposure / knowledge / training to deliver the systems successfully;
• Responsible in managing and implementing system delivery and development, and solution to operational matters for Merchantrade Systems and achieve a high availability and scalable platform to meet customer demands and projections;
• Ensure overall application development, enhancement and implementation is being done in timely manner, within allocated resources, budget and comply with IT standards and policies, internal and external customers;
• Ensure overall application development technology is in accordance with approved strategy and business plan;
• Own the existing business and technical requirements, covering end-to-end process from design, specifications, development, and support stage for MTA applications and modernized application development automation components or solutions such as API Gateway, etc;
• Accountable for end-to-end software delivery and post maintenance and applying right solutions towards each incident by working closely with various Subject Matter Experts (SME) to explore various solutions on new and challenging problems;
• Design and develop systems / solution based on user requirements using popular technology trends, providing propositions which supports / align with business objectives and technology roadmap;
• Ensure development platforms are agile and able to support any technology migration, integration and evolution ie maximize reuse, and remove redundancies and inconsistencies across projects, application systems and business units where possible;
• Provide thought leadership for emerging technology and forward-looking development strategy;
• Adopts appropriate Software development methodology ie SDLC and best practices;
• Provide proof of concept / prototype for evaluation and procurement of relevant technology solutions (if applicable) to meet business requirements;
• Oversee system development projects and reviews their programs and provide technical guidance/mentoring on coding frameworks / approach;
• Define roadmaps for Web, Mobile, API and backend applications for MTA portfolio of products;
• Facilitate the development process, operations, identify improvements/resolution for setbacks/shortcomings and providing technical documentation;
• As a recognized subject matter expert, oversee planning, design and implementation of technical solutions;
• Create various architectural diagrams and documentation based on architecture framework best practices.

To be eligible for this role, you will require:

• Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or any related fields
• 10+ years of experience in developing and managing enterprise software, SaaS or FinTech solutions. Experience of managing complex projects, environments in a collaborative and in-house software development team
• Deep understanding of enterprise grade technologies / Web, Mobile and Microservices
• Strong understanding of agile software development processes with experience guiding teams through planning, development, and rollout
• Experience with performance engineering, capacity planning, scalability, and keeping high traffic systems up in production
• Act as the “Scrum of Scrums Master” role in a multi-team agile program, collaborating closely with product owners and architects, and coordinating teams through the planning, building, and rollout of features
• Strong track record of being able to develop and set release plans, track deadlines, deliverable, resource allocations, issues / risks and create mitigation strategies as needed to deliver quality product on time
• Knowledge of Object-Oriented Design, data structures, algorithm design, and complexity analysis
• Experience in defining and executing professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle. Exposure to Machine Learning, AI, Deep learning, decision science would be appreciable 
• Good working knowledge on common technology solution segmentation including software, application and infrastructure systems
• Deep knowledge of the BNM RMIT requirements & Fintech industry and ability to articulate the end-to-end requirements for systems and process and the pros and cons of various approaches
• Good working knowledge and understanding of advanced platforms and design methodology
• Demonstrates mastery in architecting and developing highly complex CI/CD solutions at an enterprise level supporting on-premise, cloud, legacy application development and integration
• Understanding of legacy and popular techstack ie monolithic vs microservices, .Net framework, Databases, Native Android/iOs vs platform agnostic, On prem Infra vs Cloud and its services
• Proficient in at least one strongly-typed language (Java, C/C++, C#, etc);
• Experience with Javascript, Python, C++, or Go; modern SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Redis, or MongoDB).
